Huddles and Discipleship

After a Huddle meeting at a local university, a basketball athlete hung around to ask questions about knowing God's will and reading the Bible. He felt like he didn't have a good devotional plan. As a result of this conversation, he is planning on reading a couple chapters of John each week, and then discussing his reading with our FCA staff at the Huddles. He is also considering attending church with our staff and his family since he doesn't have a regular church he attends. Praying that God continues to grow this young men into a strong believer, sure in His Word!

Equipping athletes

An FCA staff member went to a college Huddle to share about how Doing Sports God's Way motivation has impacted his coaching journey. His talk hit home with many of the athletes, leading to great discussions and questions. The next day, two of the pitchers who were at the Huddle got to pitch against another school. They talked about how that was the most relaxed they've ever felt on the mound, and how they were really able to focus on just playing for an audience of One, and how that freed them to just pitch and have fun! And they both pitched great scoreless baseball, a great testimony to what God can do, when we play/live free in Him!

"And what you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses, entrust to faithful people who will be able to teach others also" (2 Timothy 2:2).

Discipleship at work

A local college hockey player recently received a call from a girl he went to high school with in another state. She has two brothers on the high school hockey team there, and she wants the athlete to lead a hockey team bible study over Zoom with her brothers and their team. He's excited for the opportunity to witness to high school hockey players.

"How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written,  “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!”' (Romans 10:14-15).
